Pro-Abortionists Argue: "Abortion is a woman's right to choose.
Answer: This is probably the most commonly heard `pro-death' argument. But is it ever a persons right to do whatever they want to do? If that was the case we would have people killing others in the street and claiming it as their "right".

John Hart argues: "I'm for the right of unborn persons to choose to live or die, and since we can't ask them, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and choose life."

Pro-Abortionists Argue: "Its the woman's body and the fetus is part of her."
Answer: The unborn child is biologically distinct from the woman. It has its own DNA and often its own blood group, and if the child is male, it is also different in its sex.

Francis J Beckwith argues: "To say that the unborn entity is part of its mother is to claim that the mother possesses four legs, two heads, two noses, and -- with the case of a male conceptus -- a penis and two testicles."

Pro-Abortionists Argue: "The fetus is only potentially human. The fetus doesn`t become human until it is born."
Answer: John Hart argues: "This is like arguing that an apple on a tree is a nonapple but suddenly becomes an apple once it's picked and removed from the tree."

Most scientists now agree that humanity begins at the moment of conception.

Pro-Abortionists Argue: "The faetus is dependent on its mother for air and food in the womb so cannot be fully human."
Answer: If this was justification for abortion then all new born children could be killed as well as they are still dependent on their mothers in many ways. Birth is simply another stage in the development of the child. The only difference is that the location is different. In fact, the Chinese count a persons age from the moment of their conception, not their birth.

Pro-Abortionists Argue: "If a woman doesn't want a baby, when it is born, it will be unwanted."
Answer: There are many people who others would judge as "unwanted" in the world. Should these be put to death as well. Who may be unwanted to one person is wanted by someone else. The chid can be adopted, it should not be aborted. There are many people out there in the world who, for whatever reason, cannot have children. A child would be wanted by them.

Pro-Abortionists Argue: "A woman who is thinking about abortion will become confused if she hears pro-life arguments".
Answer: She will become more confused psychologically by going ahead with such an unnatural act. Often this will occur immediately but sometimes, it can also occur years down the line. There is also the very real threat that she will become damaged physically by such a barbaric act.

Pro-Abortionists Argue: "What about women who conceive during a rape?"
Answer: Firstly, it is rare that a woman conceives during such an act as rape. However, it does occasionally happen. In this instance killing the child does not turn back the clock and stop the rape from ever happening. To abort the baby just means more tragedy: the killing of an innocent child. It is the rapist that is the aggressor not the unborn child.

Pro-Abortionists Argue: "What if that woman can't cope?"
Answer: Adoption is an option to seriously consider. There are women who can't cope with their children after they are born. Does this mean that they should then have them exterminated? These days, especially, there is a vast amount of support and assistance for mothers.

Pro-Abortionists Argue: "We don't have the right to force our views or morality on someone else".
Answer: People force their morality on each other every day for things that are right. Should we also say that those who try and stop paedophiles or murderers from carrying out their acts are also forcing their morality on others?

Also, pro-abortionists seem to think it is o.k. to push their `morality' on others, but not others to push theirs. Its one rule for one and another rule for the other.

Pro-Abortionists Argue: "We should leave the decisions to the health professionals and not interfere." Answer: Sadly, a lot of health professionals are biased against the rights of the unborn child. If we are to leave decisions to such people we should be sure that health professionals who favour the pro-life position are also involved (see contacts at the end of this article). In this way, the mother is able to make a thoroughly informed decision.

Pro-Abortionists Argue: "Pro-Lifers are just trying to push their religious beliefs on us."
Answer: This argument seeks to cloud the real issue. The argument here is not between religious people verses non-religious people, but life verses death. It has been biologically proven by science that life begins at the moment of conception.

Interestingly, many of the main religions of the world: Christianity, Judaism, and Islam, generally hold to the view that abortion is murder. One would think that such an agreement on this issue by major world religions would make people sit up and listen.

Pro-Abortionists Argue: "Abortions are going to happen anyway. Legal abortions just make it safer."
Answer: This assumes that the unborn are not fully human, when they clearly are. It is a bit like saying: "People are always going to murder people anyway, so the best thing we can do is create a safe environment for them to do so."

Also, legal abortions are in no way safe. Women can suffer complications during such an operation. Many women suffer mental trauma and numerous physical difficulties later on in life as a result.

Pro-Abortionists Argue: "We shouldn't show people images of aborted babies as it will traumatize people."
Answer: But it is not pro-lifers who are doing the killing is it? All a pro-lifer is doing is exposing the evil of abortion for what it is - outright bloody barbaric murder of the innocent. We shouldn't shoot the messenger for bringing the information.
