First of all, I would like to just praise the one true God and Savior of my life, Jesus Christ. I praise God for allowing me to be brought up in a Christian family where the seeds of God's word could be planted from the earliest moments of my life. Despite the wonderful Christian parents that I have, I had strayed from what I knew to be right many times in my life. In fact, I committed almost every sin under the sun despite what I had been taught about the Bible and God's love for me. I've struggled with alcohol addiction for most of my life but praise God was delivered from that evil over 2 years ago. God has saved me from that terrible den of sin. Most recently however, I came to see the face of Satan himself - and it was presented as an angel of light at first. However, with eyes wide open, I saw the hideously evil spirit behind that façade.
A "free" tape was sent to a friend of my husband from a mailing list for business and investment journals. This tape was a prelude to discover the hidden meanings in life and just how to have fun - or at least that's what it appeared to be. After listening to this one 30 minute tape, my husband and I both noticed our perceptions changing as though we were on the outside looking in. It was almost a euphoric feeling. A couple of months later, we invested our time and money to buy a few books by this man whom we'd heard give the lecture on the tape. We eventually bought some of his tapes including a series of tapes recorded from a workshop this man holds at least four to five times a year. Slowly, the web of deceit began to wind around us tighter.
After reading a book called "Enlightenment is Losing Your Mind" by this same man, my husband had a very disturbing experience to say the least. That particular day, our dog was staying overnight at the vets for some treatment. I could not sleep so I shut the door to our bedroom so I wouldn't keep my husband up while I typed away on the computer. Right before I walked into the bedroom, I had a very eerie feeling overcome me. As I turned the doorknob, my suspicions came to life. My husband was moaning a very loud, disturbing moan - not like anything that I had ever heard before. I called out his name to try and wake him but to no avail. I switched on the light and he sat straight up in the bed with a look of terror upon his face. He clumsily tried to look in the covers, around the bed, stumbling and speaking incoherently. I tried to ask him what was wrong but was stopped in my tracks as his blood red eyes looked at me. He began to walk towards me, reaching for me and moaning in such a way that I stood frozen in place. I began to scream, "Jesus, Jesus in the name of Jesus", as I had been taught so many times before where evil spirits would race away from the mention of His name. Brian bumped into the dresser and began clawing at his face in the mirror. Later upon our discussion, he said that he could see the terror in my eyes and was trying to get whatever was on his face to cause such fear to come off. I did not know until much later that this experience was caused by the reading of this man's book.
Not allowing ourselves to put together the situation, we enrolled into the course for ourselves during Thanksgiving of this year. We spent a week in Northern Georgia away from our family and friends, seeking the communication skills that this man poses behind. He states that he is a master practioner in NLP and other than consciousness techniques. Most of what we had believed this course to be was how to better communicate with others and how to take life not so seriously. However, as soon as we entered in the room the first day, a setup was in place. Here sat a normal human being upon a "throne like" seat on a platform seated higher than the audience of about 48 people. His followers walked around barefoot as he was, bringing him food, water and microphones to those in the crowd. Critical thinking and well-thought out words were discouraged from the audience. Thus began the mass manipulation of those people in the course. He asked the audience, who in here believes in the virgin birth? A small sample raised their hands. He said, "Good. We won't have to deal with that whole Christianity thing then." Throughout the workshop, we were given various exercises that ostracized us from normal human relationships and communication. Dozens of mind control techniques were used to try and wipe out the groups' critical thinking mechanisms throughout the week. The second day we were there, this man "sacrificed" himself to read to us a book that he had been inspired by a higher force to write called "Spiritual Seduction". This book, full of evil messages written in metaphorical stories used in hypnosis treatment spread out an evil force among that group. After reading two or three chapters, he asked us if we would be interested in having him read the entire book to us for a price. What would it be worth to us for us to be given a once in a lifetime opportunity to be read the keys to enlightenment by the author himself. The group as a whole gave over $9000 to help with the publishing of this book. My husband went to that reading but thankfully I did not.
After returning from the workshop, my husband and I continued to listen to the tapes that we had bought before we went to the course. We were sent the tapes recorded from our workshop about a month afterwards. All throughout the workshop, we were told to listen to those tapes over and over again - each time discovering something different and new that we had not heard during the prior listening. Fortunately for me, I am ADHD and take medication for this along with depression and OCD. Thank the Lord, I didn't stop taking most of my medication during that time. About a month after we had returned, falling further and further away from our families and friends, we began to think of ways to become more devoted to this man's group. I did discover that I heard voices jump out from the tapes after listening to them a second or third time. I thought I was going crazy. My body reacted to these tapes and books in such a way as to reveal to me what was going on, but my mind had already begun to allow Satan to take hold. After much research, I realized that the tapes were altered in such a way that the more hypnotically mesmerized you are, the more you will hear on the Alpha frequencies.
Thankfully, I made an appointment with my psychologist almost one month after returning and could not sleep the night before my appointment. That night as I searched the internet, I came upon an article about cult movements and their mind control techniques. I was not looking for these answers but God provided them to me. As I read more and more and researched site after site, I woke up to the realization that an evil presence had entered into my life, my marriage and my home. I went to my appointment the next day upset and disillusioned. My psychologist whom I trust and respect helped me to see what a fraudulent scheme had been placed into my life. I feared going home trying to talk with my husband for fear that he would not hear the truth that I had to tell. That same day, my husband received a phone call from a man who had attended the course. It turned out that he was a state investigator working for the agency that investigates businesses that practice without proper licenses. Not only did this man have a criminal investigation background, he was a Christian with a very strong faith in God. After I poured out my heart to my husband, I saw the man that I married for the first time in several months - no more delusions. He told me about the call he received from Tim and we both talked with him that night. He shared with us his faith and prayers that he had said while we were all attending that workshop. God had sent an angel to protect us while we were there.
God is such a gracious and loving God. He didn't give up on me or my husband but forgave us for all of our sins. We both accepted Jesus into our hearts and have been trying to find ways to share our testimony with others. As we try to reach out to those people who were at the course while we were, we find many who have been so deceived into thinking that this ordinary man is the way to truth and enlightenment. Many are willing to give 10% of their monthly gross income to this man for a year long course consisting of 30 minute phone calls and exercises to practice. He will allow you to come stay on his land for two weeks and provide you with a tent for a mere $6000 - all to gain this enlightenment that he claims to have.
I fear for those people who are so easily deceived as we once were. I pray for their souls that more Christians will reach out to these people to lead them away from the darkness and deception into the light that only Jesus Christ can offer. Pray for these people. Pray for the two children who are being raised by this man away from any chance of knowing the one true way to Salvation- our Lord Jesus Christ. Pray that the light will expose the evil behind this "angel of enlightenment". Pray for my husband and myself as we grow in our Christian faith and try to reach those who are lost.
