Correspondence with
the Jesus Christians

The following letters consist of some brief correspondence that I had with the Jesus Christians in 1993 (then simply called "The Christians"):


Some background to these letters:

After receiving a comic book handed to me in the street and reading it, I wrote to the address on the back of the booklet requesting more information. I received this letter:



After receiving this letter and another booklet, Mountains and Molehills, I wrote to the group again, taking them up on their above mentioned invitation to write back to them with any comments, queries or disagreements about the literature. I did write back and although I do not have a copy of the letter I sent and cannot remember everything I wrote, I do remember that I did point out a few things in their literature which I felt were worth raising questions about. These were the apparent emphasis on works, downplaying the need to be born-again, and the use of swear words. However, I also remember that I was in no way harsh in my criticism but attempted to be especially sensitive. This is the reply I received back:
