Update as of 2011: Many people often ask me about the girl “Jane” in the story. Jane actually got in touch with me a few years back after hearing about this story being both on the internet and in printed format in the book. After some initial upset regarding the story, Jane and I have spent some time discussing what happened and are currently working through, and trying to make sense of, the events that occurred all those years ago (1989) and now even share some friendship. I would appreciate your prayers for both of us as we seek to move forward in this endeavour and renewed acquaintance. God is good and is in the business of bringing events to miraculous conclusions in His own time. There’s much more I could say but I feel there is also much more that needs to happen as well. Freed from Satan’s Grasp provides incredible first hand insights into the much misunderstood and neglected phenomenon of demon possession and the way evil spirits work. In an age where this subject is brushed aside by the world, and even some sectors of the Church, I feel that this is a timely reminder to make people aware that this phenomena is still as real today as it was in Jesus’ own day.

The bulk of the book consists of my own actual experiences of a slow decline into occult activities and contact with evil spirits which were nearly the ruin of me. It was only when I was dramatically set free by the Lord Jesus Christ that my life did a turn around for the better. But even then there was a long hard road to travel as the kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness clashed.

The last couple of chapters offer some thoughts into how the occult and the work of evil spirits are effecting our world today. The final part of the book presents the enduring Christian message of salvation and what the individual can do to find new life and new hope.

It is my hope and prayer that the book will be an eye opener and an early warning for those who are becoming involved with any form of occultism, whether it be some form of spiritualism, witchcraft, or new age practices. For those who are already deeply steeped in such practices I hope the story will show that it is never too late to make a break from such spiritualities and make a fresh start with God.

I am also certain that the book will be of great interest and encouragement to many Christians who want to gain a better understanding of ministering to those who have found themselves entangled in the occult and afflicted by evil spirits.

So for those remotely interested in spiritual warfare, demon possession, deliverance ministry, the world of the occult, or just wanting to read an encouraging story about God setting someone free against all the odds, this book will be of interest to you.
